When I started working with Antonio the Clown I had the idea
to have a costume. But I thought I was a bit too old to be a clown, or some other type of character. Then I got
this idea to be an indian, and I liked the idea because I already had the name Little Moon. I was wondering "how I could do
the dress?" And the model for it came to my imagination, I found all the articles for my costume and after
a little time and work, Little Moon was born.
We like to play with the kids. We do arts and crafts, and
we sing for the Lord, we have the children follow us in little exercises, and you know what we have discovered? We find
the parents love participating as well. You see, they too enjoy being a child again. In Mexico many children
have to start work at a very early age, often pre-teen. Thus in many ways they miss out on the normal experience of early
childhood. Characters like Antonio, and Little Moon give them that opportunity to feel that childhood
experience again.
Perhaps there are some who would wonder if God could use clowns and indian characters for His work?
Jesus had much to say about children. In Mt. 18:3-5 He said: "Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are
converted and become as little children you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore whoever humbles himself
as this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. Whoever receives one little child like this in My name receives Me."
We find that as our characters reach out to the children
and minister to them in singing for the Lord, and sharing from His word, we touch the lives of not only the little children,
but we have an opportunity to reach that little child that still resides in all of us. And we Praise God for that.
